Family Health Insurance

Anybody know a good insurance company for family insurance? My husband and I have been building a home business and are at a point where we may be able to afford health insurance under our company instead of him getting it through the company he works for. I hear it can be very expensive, but I'm ready to review a few policy rates to see what we can come up with. The other issue is that he has a preexisting condition, so that affects the insurance rates too, I'm sure. I don't know. This is a big step, but we really don't have an option. My husband has to have insurance and if, for some strange reason, he loses his job or decides to quit, it will be good to have a backup plan. Anyway, do any of you work at home moms and dads have health insurance with a company that charges good rates?

Market Research

This entire blog was created for the purpose of discussing market research opportunities and how you can benefit form participating in surveys. Lately though, this blog has changed into a more personal blog and even one that discusses freebies as well. Considering my circumstances, I'd like to provide an explanation for the change. When I first started looking for work online, I never considered actually starting my own business. I was of the mindset that I should work for someone else.

First, this was the easiest way to think since that's what I had been doing my entire life. In fact, I'm sure the average person works for someone else. Now that I have started my own business, of course, with the help of my little family unit, I came to the understanding that I could actually make a living at what I do now, e-commerce. I do continue to participate in market research studies, since I do enjoy completing a survey on occasion, but my entire focus has been on making ends meet with my own home business.

It's been a struggle, to say the least, but I am a living example of what can happen if you have a little "ganas" (spanish for desire) and a whole lot of patience. So, with that explanation, I'd like to say that this blog will still share my experiences with certain survey companies, like Pinecone Research, Lightspeed, SurveySpot, NFO MySurvey and the like (see list on the upper right hand corner sidebar). However, I'm leaning more toward e-commerce, freebies and good deals online.

Don't You Love the Theater?

Don't you just love the theater! I haven't been to see a play or a musical in, it seems like, forever, but I have always loved theater. I don't think I'd ever see myself as an actress, since I could never keep a straight face. Why do I bring this up? Well, the other day I was watching one of those kids channels with my children and I saw that they were advertising High School Musical tickets. I think I saw a DVD for High School Musical, but the movies just doesn't give the real theater going flair, does it. I'd like to go see this musical.

I remember going to see Cats which was kind of boring. I also went to see the ever popular Phantom of the Opera and West Side Story. Those two were wonderful! I've seen many off-Broadway plays too, especially during my college years. So, I guess you could tell I like theater. Anyway, what are some of your favorite theater going experiences?

Do You Have Bad Credit?

When you think about buying just about anything, the first thing that comes to mind is whether you can afford it. Well, that's the way it is for those of us who are not rich. The next thing you might think about is your credit cards and whether you should put your purchase on credit or buy it with cash. Most days credit is the most popular way to fly.

Not only do we think about credit when it comes to everyday houselhold purchases, but more importantly when we are thinking of buying something big, like a home or a car. Getting a home loan these days works best when you have an excellent credit score, but what if you have bad credit?

Did you know that you could still buy on credit if your credit is bad? The number of "bad credit" consumers is growing in the U.S. day by day. For this reason, I found a website that provides a great resource for this type of consumer. The information provided is free and is there to help you get back on your feet financially. So, are you ready to start rebuilding your credit?

Great Deals Everywhere

For those of you looking to change that old chandelier or maybe buy a few new table top lamps, and such, Lighting Direct is having a 50% off Fall Sale. Can't beat that, unless of course they drop their discount even further. They have beautiful light fixtures, especially their quoizel lighting fixtures. I'm one for rust colors and bronze or a little of that antique look myself. I just bought a few lamps from Home Depot, one of which isn't even out of the box yet, but I just couldn't bring myself to take it back. I'm sure I'll make use of it.

The point of this article is that there are great deals everywhere at this time of year. You don't have to look too hard. Try not to pay full price for anything you plan on purchasing. You will see what I mean, you can always get a good deal. It's a consumers market.

Buying Things You Don't Need.

I went to Walmart the other day and noticed they had this beautiful tablecloth on sale. I was on the verge of getting it, but then decided against it since I already have on tablecloth that I'm not using. Do you ever get trapped into buying something you just don't need just because the price is too good to pass it by? That especially happens to me when I'm on vacation. I brought about $200 with me to spend on just in case stuff. Well, of course, I came back to town with around $5. On top of that, I remember using my credit card a few times. What is it about being on vacation that makes you think you have money coming out of your ears? Oh well.

Thinking about Health Care

Considering the health situation of my husband's family, he has been going back and forth about moving back North. He wants to be close to his mom and dad so that he can help them more. Once of the things that I want him to think about is his health care. He's in a situation where health insurance is mandatory. That being said, since we've started this online home business, we've been able to recoup our initial investment and then some. He is now asking me to check into obtaining health insurance under our company name. I don't even know where to start with that, but I heard about this healthcare management software that I believe will help. I just need to find out what it would cost us as a company. I think it's going to be pretty expensive, so I just don't know. That is an option though.

Taking a Vacation from my Vacation

This is my first day back from vacation and I'm just exhausted. I wonder what it would be like to own a real estate franchise. I mean, my husband and I live down south where my family is, but his family, mom, dad, sister and brothers, live in the north. If we could have a house here and there, it would be ideal, wouldn't it. He is actually contemplating moving back there even though we've only been here, in the south, for two years. I'm not really ready to make that kind of move and hope I don't have to do it anytime soon. Well, we'll see. Anyway, I'll try to get back to work starting Monday. I think I'm just going to take a vacation from my vacation. I know you understand me.

Airline Magazines

As I said in an earlier post, I'm finally on vacation. Don't you know that this is probably the only time that I really pay attention to unique products on the market. I mean, you know those airport magazines and airplane magazines that show you stuff that you probably would never buy because of the price, but you wish you could afford them. That's what you see in airport magazines.

Well, that's not true about quoizel lighting, since their products are relatively inexpensive. They have some really beautiful chandeliers.

O.K. I hear the boarding call, so gotta run.

What an Adventure!

Well, I'm at the airport, finally, officially on vacation. While checking in, I found the process relatively quick. Did you know that as long as you keep 3oz liquid bottles in a quart zip lock back (one of the small ones), that you can take them on the plane with you. That was new. I remember flying a year or two ago and that was a NO-No!

The rush of the scanning process was enough to make me want to go into drug rehabilitation. I am sweaty from having to go so fast. Of course, there are a lot of people behind me, so I just have to hurry up. My belt even made me beep. That was a first for me. I felt like I had to practically undress in order to get through.

O.K. well, that's it for now. I'm on my adventure and ready for fun. Hope you're having fun too.

WooHoo!!! It's Friday!

O.K. I know you must be just as excited as I am that it is Friday. On the other hand, I have another reason to be very excited. Next week, I'll be on vacation!!! WooHoo! O.K., I'm not going anywhere like Flamingo Las Vegas, but I will be with family I haven't seen in awhile. I will be where the beauty of the season is in full force showing its best fall foliage. While it's hot and muggy and rainy here in South Florida, I'll be in cool crisp air. Oh yeah, I can't wait. You'll still see me writing a blog or two here and there, but I'm going to definitely make this vacation stretch. Hope you have a happy Friday and wonderful weekend!

Free Skin Care Products

Are you looking for free skin care products? I have received a number of trial size skin care for free by visiting sites like Walmart.com. In fact, they have a whole host of free trial size products that you can sign up to receive. You have to go to the site periodically.

It's not like - once sign up that's all you have to do. Each product must be requested. They have a form that you must fill out along with a very short survey. The surveys are sometimes two or three multiple choice questions. Sometimes there is no survey at all.

So, what are you waiting for?

The DIY Network - Free Do-it-Yourself Info!

Have you ever checked out the DIY Network on cable or satellite tv? It's a very cool channel to catch you up on how to do just about any type of do it yourself project. The other day I was watching them build a log cabin from scratch. It looks so easy when they do it and pretty darn expensive too, but the cabin was beautiful!

It took me back to when I was about half my age. I once went to Arizona and visited Lemon Mountain, at least I think that's what that mountain was called. It was beautiful up there. They have log cabins in the most beautiful spots. I was checking out a Pigeon Forge cabin rental the other day and just looking at the pictures where these cabins are located in Tennessee makes my heart flutter. I can hear the soft sounds of the brooks and taste the clean mountain water.

There's nothing like a log cabin! But, anyway, I digress, if you're ever in need of some DIY help, you should not hesitate to check out the free information you can get on that DIY Network channel. I'm pretty sure they have a website too, but I'm not sure of the URL just now. I'll try to get that to you though.

Being a SAHM, WAHM Mommy

It's raining in sunny south Florida today. In fact, it has been raining on and off for almost a week, if not more. I think I've read at least three good books in all that time. My little girl and I have been staying home, watching cartoons and reading. It's a very comfortable past-time.

One of the joys of being a stay at home mom are times like these. Working at home has allowed me to experience so many good times with my children. I am truly blessed. Do you think you have it in yourself to work from home? It's not as easy as it might seem. You do have to be disciplined. Some people really need a punch clock to make a living.

Well, I'm living comfortably even though I don't make a full time income. Thank God, my children and I are well fed and prospering. I believe that all I have to do is make goals and then pursue them. Do you come from that same school of thought?
